English Proficiency Requirement

Summit is conducted entirely in English, but don’t worry — you only need foundational speaking and listening skills. No reading or writing ability is required.

  • If you’ve joined MUN, English Debate, Toastmasters, or any international club, you’re already qualified.
  • If you can casually chat, answer questions, or present in English, you’ll do great.

Summit deliberately builds a supportive, zero-judgment space where you can practice freely, gain confidence, and enjoy learning in English!

Group Format

Participants are grouped into small squads of 8–12 attendees, ensuring abundant speaking opportunities.

High school and college students will be assigned to separate squads for a smoother learning experience.

Important Reminders
  • Early bird group registration is valid only if all 5 members submit applications before 11/15 (Sun) 23:59.
  • All applications are reviewed individually. Applying as a group will not result in collective admission.
  • If some members in your group aren’t admitted, the admitted students still qualify for the group discount.

Accepted applicants must complete credit card payment by the payment deadline. Otherwise, spots will go to waitlisted applicants.

What are the requirements to join the Summit?

While you need basic English proficiency, if you're eager to learn and grow, we'd love to have you!

Do I need excellent English to join?

No! Basic listening and speaking skills plus a willingness to participate are all you need.

How is the Summit different from other workshops?

Summit emphasizes small-group teaching in an all-English, American-style learning environment, where every attendee practices, learns, and grows in a safe space.

If I can't join this year, when's the next Summit?

The Summit runs every December. Follow GLO Taiwan on Instagram for exact dates!

What should I bring to the Summit?

We provide all materials. Just bring something to take notes with.

What if I'm worried my skill level is too different from others?

We separate high school and college students into different small groups. Instructors and staff guide everyone step-by-step through each activity in a safe learning environment, so don't worry!

What kind of applicants get admitted?

We look for students eager to grow and speak, open to feedback, and willing to challenge themselves. The more complete and authentic your application, the better your chances.
