Where GLO Skills are Used Today

About GLO
Leadership is expected at every stage, from job recruitment to promotions, yet schools don’t teach us what that means or how to do it well.
At GLO, we believe leadership can be learned. Since 2012, we’ve trained 2000+ passionate students like you with a step-by-step framework to inspire teams, execute projects, and amplify your impact at work and in the community.
At our 2-day workshop, you’ll be split into small groups of 8. You’ll learn tactical steps to set visions, hire teams, run meetings, and delegate tasks – coached by counselors who have used these exact skills to manage teams, launch companies, and lead community change.
Berkeley Counselors
Each small group is led by accomplished GLO alumni who've applied these skills in real careers, internships, and leadership roles.

The 2-day Curriculum
This is not a “sit around and listen” weekend. You will learn by practicing these skills in small groups using real-world examples. Our certified counselors will give you live feedback to ensure you are ready to take these skills back to your teams:
Deliver inspiring & memorable visions
5 things to give your team the “why” behind what you’re all working on. Your teams will naturally prioritize your projects if there is a clear purpose and impact – especially if it’s bold.
Set goals and objectives
Break down your vision into manageable, actionable checkpoints to focus your team on what matters.
Building a team of superstars
The success of any project hinges on the quality of the team behind it. Know what to prioritize for a well-balanced yet high-performing squad.
How to manage meetings efficiently
Gone are the days of long, draining meetings. A 7-step pre-meeting checklist to make your meetings engaging, on-topic and on-time.
Brainstorming & decision making
5-step process to make group decisions in a matter of minutes as opposed to hours – while keeping everyone happy and involved.
Delegating tasks
The smallest of tasks can derail a large project. 3 key phrases to get your team to happily volunteer for all tasks, even the undesirable ones such as “taking out the trash after the event”!
Project management
Simulate an entire project from idea to execution. 6 actions to make sure no tasks get missed and everyone gets their work done on time.

Hear from past attendees

“I attended the GLO leadership conference at Berkeley in my first year of medical school at Stanford. I was much better prepared for my roles as team leader despite our schooling not having any formal leadership training. Last year, I started my own health tech company and the lessons about leadership and creativity have served me through this journey as well.”
“My first GLO conference was in 2013 at Berkeley. GLO has provided me not just skills, but more importantly, a network, mindset, and experiences to help me stay focused and think rationally about my decisions in my career and my life. I've met so many like minded and ambitious individuals through GLO who have become some of my closest friends who provide me support, advice, and friendship when I need it most.”

“The summit had professional counselors with real world expertise and good facilitation techniques that made it an interactive experience with in-depth discussions. I also specifically liked the focus on using the skills to help people around us and build sustainable ‘starfish helps starfish’ communities together.”
